Today in class we discussed interactivity. What does interactive learning mean? I believe to be learning interactively, an individual must be physically interacting with something. Hands-on learning is the best learning, I think. Technology is a great way to incorporate interactivity learning into the classroom. One tool we learned about in class is the SMART Board. Taking advantage of the SMART Board in the classroom will increase engagement and motivation of the students in their learning and increase success.
In class we got the opportunity to explore SMART Board Notebook and SMART Exchange. There is an overwhelming amount of information and activities to use! I am eager to start incorporating the SMART Board into my lesson plans and using this technology as a teaching tool in the classroom. I think this program can become very useful in increasing the involvement of students and creating a fun and positive learning environment.
Here are a few interesting SMART Board Ideas.
Nevertheless, I do feel intimidated with all the gadgets, tools and features. I know I will just have to keep using this program and experiment with different things. One concern I have with the SMART Board is the possibility of allowing every student to interact with it at once. During a lesson plan it will be hard to involve every student; some students may have to wait till the next lesson to use the SMART Board.
