This week in class we have been discussing technology integration. What is technology integration you might ask? I define technology integration as the use of technology in the classroom to support learning and teaching by providing a clearer understanding of the information. However, when integrating technology into learning one must use it, transparently. Meaning, technology should be used to complement learning and not be the focus of learning, as if it is invisible.
Using a variety of technology in education is an effective way to incorporate skills, such as digital abilities, independence and responsibility, to prepare for the future. For example, cyber space is full of knowledge and it is the individual’s responsibility to make judgments when using the internet. Therefore, it is the teacher’s duty to teach his or her students responsibility, online behavior and explain the consequences of misuse.
Here are a couple of sites with resources to help teach students online safety.

During this lesson about technology integration I have learned change is inevitable. Technology is always being modernized with new software or new devices and it is my job as a teaching to keep updated. I need to be open to possibilities and plan interactive lessons using technology. To enrich the students of 21st century learning in my classroom I need to focus on collaboration, creativity, divergent thinking, problem solving and communication.
As we all know, technology is here to stay. With all the new technology over the past years impacting our future generations, how will the development of technology effect intrapersonal relationships? Will communication face-to-face disappear? More importantly, how can we stop the negative impacts of technology affecting relationships?
